The first character I chose was the latino locksmith. The movie brought out that he is a passionate caring father. The methods the movie taught us about prejudging people like this guy is they showed him having an extremely close relationship with his daughter and giving Sandra Bullock the keys after her rant against her husband. The movies suggest about the nature of stereotyping others is dont burn bridges by stereotyping because you never know when you will need that person.
My second person is Sandra Bullock's character. The movie brought out that she is a rude, corrupted wife that is very racist. The fact that the locksmith gave her the keys after her rant showed how she was wrong. Again she prejudged the locksmith. The movies suggest about the nature of stereotyping others is dont burn bridges by stereotyping because you never know when you will need that person.
The first character I chose was the detectives brother that got killed at the end of the movie by the other cop. This boy seemed very sweet and nice, he didn't want to do what he was doing in stealing cars. He wanted to get away from that stuff. He was into country music and ice skating and the lord. He was stereotyped as a black ghetto man, and at the end of the movie that stereo type ended up costing him his life. The cop that picked him up thought he was pulling a gun out of his pocket, because he stereotyped him as ghetto black man, but really he was pulling out the statue that the him and the cop had the same of. The nature of stereo typing causes this boy his life.
The other character that I chose was the locksmith. We first met the locksmith changing the locks in Sandra Bullocks characters house and she screams how he is probably in a gang and been to jail with all his tattoos. She completely stereotypes him by the way he looks. The stereotype turns out to be completely wrong as he ends up just a dad that absolutely ADORES his daughter and has a wife. He turns out to be such a sweet guy that is only trying to make a living for him family that he would do ANYTHING for. The movie shows a guy that would be easy to stereotype and then completely makes him so the audience loves the guy and feels bad for him. They movie teaches you to never judge a book by its cover.
Two characters are the locksmith and the attorney's wife played by Sandra Bullock. To start, stereotypical traits of the locksmith are gang member, criminal, not trustworthy, prison tatoos. All of these stereotypes are wrong because durring the movie all he does is work hard to make money for his family and care for his daughter. The wife of the attorney on the other hand was a stereotypical white, rich, racist woman. Although the traits I just mentioned were true durring the movie, She was scared for her life after a black man held a gun to her head, but she also was timid of the black gentlemen before they even ran up to the couple.
The movie shows many unique cases of how stereotypes can be right sometime but wrong most of the time. For example, everyone gave the locksmith complaints and problems, such as the arab gun shop owner, but the locksmith was only trying to make a good living for his family. As a result of this, an innocent little girl was shot at. Stereotypes are wrong, even if they are right they are still wrong.
